Finding a topic that interests you and that also follows the
guidelines of a project can sometimes be difficult. It is best to start out by making a list of a
bunch of different topics that follow the guidelines and then you can narrow them
down by your own interests after that.
Following the topic choosing phase begins the area of figuring out what
you should talk about in the work. This
is the point where we get to apply the different lenses that our project is
going to be about. We do this by asking ourselves questions about the topic
using the lens that we have created earlier about our topic. This lens helps us to see things in the
perspective of others and not just ourselves.
Almost every topic has been the subject of conversation before at one
time or another and most of the time these discussions can be found and used to
broaden your perspective on the topic.
These can help you answer some of the questions that you had before but
it is also possible that these new conversations will bring about new questions
that need to be answered. Answering
these questions can seem hard but there are many resources everywhere to help
you do this, from the library to online articles and websites such as wiki
sites like Wikipedia. (41) These sites
are great tools for helping you answer the questions you have before you start
to actually write your paper. They
provide huge amounts of information but there are some risks to using
them. The information on them can be
changed very easily and without the reader knowing so it is imperative that
once you find some information there look those things up again on a different
source to make sure that the information is true. Once you come up with these questions you
should ask other people their views on the questions to see if other people
think that they fit the topic as well.
(40) Good people to converse with would be your instructor or even a librarian.
Doing this you can get an idea on how people will respond to your topic because
if they don’t think that the questions are relevant they most likely will not
feel that your entire project is very good.
All of this will lead to a better, more well written paper that will
make sense and follow the guidelines.
